I have been in one of those moods where I feel like cleaning out, reorganizing, Goodwilling, etc. Here is a list of things I found in a drawer Josh affectionately refers to as "the utility drawer," but which should really be called "the junk drawer."
-12 packs of gum
- 3 cigarette lighters (neither of us smoke)
- a package of Velcro circles
- a package and a half of those felt things you put on the bottom of a chair to prevent it from scratching the floor
- 8 C batteries
- 14 AA batteries
- 2 white taper candles
- 3 white tea light candles
- a book of matches
- 2 safety pins
- 2 clothespins
- a dog brush
- Scotch tape
- a wet nap
- 3 Chip Clips
Oh, and for the record, those of you who may be traveling in the future and feel the need to bring me something special, I appreciate your sentiment. But I don't need anymore keychains with my name on them. I have two of those.
I don't imagine this post had any effect on any of you, but just in case it inspired you to clean out your own junk drawer, my advice is this: BE RUTHLESS. It's not worth saving it, no one's feelings will be hurt that you threw it away, and the next time you go looking for your iPod shuffle, you will be pleased to find it in the drawer where you last left it.
