I know the "pet peeves" post has been done, but here's a new one to which most anyone can relate: Why is it that once a person graduates from cosmetology school, she no longer understands basic standards of measurement? I got my hair cut today, and when the stylist asked me how much length I wanted to "lose," I said, "Oh, an inch or so..." and she said, "Ohhh..." in a funny tone of voice. Surprise? Excitement?
I should have known right then. I should have known! Her fingers must've started to itch, her vampire-like scissors shaking in her hands...
You've all heard the joke about why guys are bad at math, right? Because they think their you-know-what is 8 inches. Well, explain to me why a profession which is profoundly dominated by women has the same problem! Ahhhh!
At least it's summer, and it's warm out. And I'm done with clinical, so I don't have to worry about having enough length to keep my hair "off the collar and out of the face." But still.
