Oh! There's one more.

This story should give you a good understanding of my boss.

It gets pretty hot in the coffee shop around 10 a.m., and the boys in the back have been allowed a single fan which they usually face toward the door with the door propped open. This set up pulls the hot air from the kitchen to the outside, of course. Well, today it was pretty cool outside, and it got to be about 1 p.m. before it was too toasty in the kitchen. I said to the guys, "Did you want to turn on that fan?" and they said yes... so I pulled the fan out, faced it toward the door, propped the door open, and turned it on. One of the cooks suggested that since it was so cool outside, maybe we could turn the fan in the other direction and pull some of the outside air in. I figured, Hey, he's the guy who's sweating back here in the kitchen; he can have the fan any way he wants.

Cue the boss's arrival.

He comes to the drive thru window with four gallons of milk and plops them down on the sill for me to bring inside and says, "If I ever see that fan facing towards the restaurant and blowing that hot air inside again I will take it away and you guys can just suffer in there without it." I looked at him in utter confusion, like a child who has just been scolded for something his kid sister actually did, and said, ".........................Hey - I just do what I'm told."

AND THEN the cute 17-year-old girl (who was also working) went to the window to get his next installment of milk, and he says to her, "That's a great color for you, Susie. Is that a new shirt?"

What?! I could not resist. I went to the window and said, "Are you kidding me?! You come to the window and yell at me about the fan and then you look at her and say 'Cute shirt'? What is going on?" He looked at Susie and said, "She doesn't know me that well yet, does she?"

Huh?
