Smarty-pants!

I happened to talk to my brother, Scott, on the phone last night, and as we were hanging up, I asked if I could say hello to Abel. This is fairly common; Scott will prompt Abel, "Say, 'Hi, Auntie Beth!'" And Abel usually responds by saying, "Ha," and "Ha," and "Ha." I'm usually pretty entertained by this, and I just loving hearing his little half-laugh, so my feelings aren't hurt that he doesn't really say hello.

Last night, however, he did say hello. His little toddler voice said, "Hhhi, Auntie Beth," and then there was a pause, and he added, "To-bey."

I laughed right out loud. When Scott got back on the phone, I asked him if he had prompted Abel to say hello to Tobey, too. He said no, and that he figured I had said something about Tobey. Nope. Just Abel, being a good old smarty-pants, and putting the two of us together. (Much like 'Auntie BethandJosh.')

So, here's a little snapshot which not only demonstrates how Abel and Tobey really enjoy each other, but also what a well-behaved little dog we have! Posted by Picasa
