I can't help but agree. In the same way that having four days off from work makes one feel as if one belongs in a place other than work, being in Maine for a few days makes one feel as if one belongs in Maine. I do miss that state.
It was a great couple days with family, a remarkable intersection of our paths for a mere 48 hours. The older we get, and the more complex and extended our family becomes, the less likely these events are to occur... sad, really.
We kayaked and fished and ate and Tobey went in the water and Abel squealed with excitement as he opened his belated birthday parcels. It was a simple good time.
Ahhh, Maine.

Funny and strange because I surely didn't grow up in Maine but I feel the same way when we leave.
It's like ripping something away from a two-year old...painful.
We had a great time too!
