30 weeks

Well, the baby's room is nearly done. The walls are painted, the baseboard trim and door and window casing are in and painted, the new carpet is in, the rocking chair, dresser, and finally the crib are in... The last project in there is the closet; it was in a pretty crummy state not long ago, with large cracks between the pieces of sheetrock and a gap all the way around where the top of the wall meets the ceiling. This was a pretty chilly closet last year, so it really needed a little love. Josh's dad has been working in there, patching and sanding and patching and sanding. Eventually it will get a coat of white paint and then we will put the shelf back in and the door back on.

Recent tidbits you might find interesting/entertaining:

-I had my 30 week appointment today. My belly is measuring around 31.5 cm. That's just a touch ahead of schedule, fun.
-Josh got to feel (with a little midwife direction) where the baby's rear end, back, and head were at my appointment.
-The baby gets the hiccups at least once a day.
-I went to a breastfeeding class last night and managed not to kill the girl in the back row who was bragging that after 8 months, she had only gained 2.5 pounds.
-We have narrowed down our list of pediatricians to two.
-I don't feel kicks and punches much anymore, just a lot of squirming and repositioning. There isn't as much room in there as there once was!
-I passed my glucose tolerance test (that was actually two weeks ago, but it's been awhile).
-The baby's heartrate was 150 this week. Two weeks ago, it was 140. Prior to that, it had always been 160.
-Newborn diapers are about the size of an index card. OK, not quite that small, but still. Very, very small. And cute.

That's all for this week!

You totally have the right to pop the Back Row girl in the nose...and blame it on all those lovely pregnant lady hormones! I'll back you up! You look beautiful, as always. Josh is a LUCKY guy!

Aw, thanks. I was proud of myself for not clawing her eyes out. Or the eyes of the grandmother-to-be in the front row who was bragging that her daughter (who was about 7 mos prego) had only gained 12 pounds... I found all of these women very brave to be announcing their (lack of) weight gain in a room of fuller-figured, swollen, tired and of course hormonal pregnant ladies!

You look amazing I can't believe you're only 30 weeks but then at the same time it seems like time has flown since you announced you were expecting.

When are you going to cut down your hours at work?

Lets see some pictures of that nursery.

How exciting. I am so glad that everything is going well. We are praying for you both as the time for his arrival draws near!

2.5, 12, 30, 40lbs - who cares. What matters is that you and the baby are healthy. ;)

We can't wait to meet the little guy (and for you to meet Violet)!

I can't believe you are worried about your weight gain! you totally look awesome, honestly. And bragging about 2.5 pounds? I wouldn't, I would be worried. Don't you love the hiccups? I would always try to rub my belly thinking I was helping the guys get rid of them, of course it didn't work. I read on baby center with van though, it meant the central nervous system was developed or something. I can't wait to see you this weekend!
