It was brought to my attention this morning that I had not updated since we got the results of the ultrasound and the biophysical profile. Alright, already! Here's what we know:
*We are (still) having (just) one boy.
*He has chubby cheeks!
*He weighs somewhere in the neighborhood of 6lbs, 9oz and 7lbs, 10oz.
*His abdominal cavity is in the 95th percentile. I believe that means his lil belly is bigger than 95% of other little bellies at this stage in life. Not to worry, though: the midwife assures us, "That doesn't mean you'll have a fat baby!" Ha ha. I'd love a fat baby. :)
*He is making attempts to breathe on his own.
*He has a good, strong heart rate that is responsive to his movements, which are plentiful.
*The amniotic fluid level is good.
*In summary, the baby scored an 8 out of 8 on the biophysical profile, so it looks like he's doing great!
I can't think of any other specifics at the moment, so let's move on to me:
*I had another non-stress test today, the second of the week... man, these are getting repetitive! The little man continues to do well, moving frequently enough for their liking and with appropriate accelerations in his heart rate. It's fun for me to feel his movements, and then watch the monitor to see his corresponding increased heart rate. Cute.
*My blood pressure today was 112/70, the lowest it has been since October. We had a rotten nurse on Tuesday who told me my blood pressure was 130/100, which obviously wasn't comforting... but when rechecked it was low 120s/80s. Josh and I decided she didn't know what she was doing. Ha ha. And the repeated BP checks since then seem to confirm this suspicion.
*There was NO protein in today's urine dipstick (the cup you have to provide every time you go), so I am eager to find out what this last 24-hour test will show.
*My bloodwork from this morning was unremarkable.
*My belly was measuring 37 weeks, right on, at Tuesday's appointment.
I'm not sure how to explain the sudden improvement in my blood pressure and proteinuria, other than the fact that I know a whole lot of folks are praying for me and this little guy, and I want you all to know that WE appreciate it! I had been worried that we might get to the point of induction if things continued in the direction they were headed, but now it seems that things will be allowed to progress on their own. I hope so! On the other hand, an early delivery would make a great Christmas present! :)
I think that's all I got.
