I had this "issue" when I was pregnant with Ben, too. It is impossible to find maternity jeans that aren't highwaters. As if your average pregnant woman needed any help with looking awkward! Anyway, I decided to try and "fix" a pair.
First of all, the ridiculous pants. And yes, I do realize that the rest of my outfit is SO fabulous that you hardly notice how short the pants are, but look hard. I promise they are there.

Shudder. As if that wasn't bad enough, I am choosing to emphasize my especially striking doggy socks, which you can basically see through. Wow, this blog has become rather humiliating.

Anyway. On to the "fix." I went to Jo-Ann's, and came home with the following:

Less than an hour later, voila:

...and a close-up:

I'm not sure what went on with the grosgrain (that's the blue) ribbon on the top, it kind of puckered a little. I don't think you notice it when they are actually ON me, though. I'll have to post a picture of me wearing the finished product (and a decidedly cooler pair of socks) later... my camera man is sleeping in to work the night shift. :)

Wow, super-cute solution to your tall-people problem! I love it! And just think, soon you'll be able to wear shorts and dresses...
I think you just found a new calling to be a fashion designer!! Cute fix :)
You crack me up lady. My sister in law has been complaining about the lack of maternity pants for tall people. Cute fix!
Very cute!! Remember the pants I gave you and how short they were? And I have one pair that are sooo long that I have to cuff up. I am sure you remember them too. I can agree with you though, they are usually high waters.
well done! the bottoms are fantastic!
(i made a killing, by the way, with gapmaternity tall stuff. the more prego i got, the less they fit lengthwise but luckily it also got warmer!)
Sad, our Gap store doesn't have a maternity section. :(
Funny, though, you are always someone I think of when I am complaining about how "apparently tall people don't get pregnant" - I say to myself, WHAT ON EARTH did Beth wear?! Now I know. :)
