1. Work has been bad lately, so busy... I always leave there irritable.
2. Work wouldn't be so bad if we had enough staff.
3. We might have enough staff if no one ever called in (sick or otherwise).
4. It wouldn't be so bad to call in sick, if people were willing to get called in to work.
And, in summary,
5. People would be willing to get called in to work if work wasn't so bad. It wouldn't be so bad if we had enough staff. We would have enough staff if the people who called in sick were replaced with people who were called in and willing to work.
Did that all make sense? I'm not so sure I even understood it. Bottom line, if we all came to work when needed (regularly scheduled or called in), it wouldn't be so bad to be at work. Ever. But alas, we do not, and so the cycle continues.....................
And I didn't even MENTION the people who call in "sick" just because they need a break from being at work!

I can relate, I had worked the past 5 days in a row, was going to have Wed off and then was on another 6 in a row stretch, so one day off out of 11 and wouldnt you know they called me to come in on my one day off! Luckily my phone was in the living room and I was already in bed and didn't get it until the morning, John said it was divine intervention. Oh to be a nurse huh?
