Forty-seven!

When I was in college, we girls on the track team had an obsession with the number 47. I honestly have no idea where it came from. It was one of those goofy things that someone starts and then it catches on. We used to watch the digital clock in the college van and when it ticked to some hour:47 we would start yelling, "It's NINE:FORTY-SEVEN and weeeeeeee arrrrrrrre hap-py!" So silly. Anyway I remember the summer after that season, I worked at Hannaford and I had to memorize all those PLU numbers for the produce. You know, like the sticker on every banana that says 4011. (PLU numbers are universal, which is kind of nice. I stood in line in Rochester once and told the cashier the PLU for my apples because she couldn't find it. She thought I was a complete dork, but I got through the line a lot quicker!) I remember that a rutabaga (or turnip) is 4747 and a kiwi is 4047. Ha ha.

The real reason for mentioning this delightful number today, though, has nothing to do with produce. It's the number of days left till Josh and I cruise away. Woo hoo!
