My dog just stole a hot cookie off the cooling rack on the counter, and burned his little tongue on a melted chocolate chip. It didn't stop him from trying to scarf the rest of it down, but it significantly slowed his progress as he had to chomp and pant at the same time... giving me a chance to shove his nose out of the way long enough to wipe up the floor.
Ah, the joys of dog ownership...
