Time for some Christmas music

So in an unexpected (and boring) turn of events, I am home today instead of at work... and I am suddenly feeling like preparing for Christmas.

Yes, I do realize that today is Halloween, and that I am pre-empting both this candy-filled holiday AND Thanksgiving by discussing the C-word so early, but what can I say? I have always had a tendency to push the season when it comes to Christmas, and honestly, most times it works out in my favor. My Christmas cards go out on time, my shopping is done early (except for the inevitable last-minute must-have add-ons), and I have a fairly enjoyable holiday season devoid of the stress many Americans invite into their lives by refusing to "push the season," if you will.

Since both sides of my family have adopted the tradition of drawing names and buying for one person, this year I have one Austin, one Kresge, Josh, and my nephew Abel to buy for. That makes for some fun shopping because it's not too overwhelming. AND SINCE I'M ALREADY THINKING ABOUT IT, I should have no excuse for not finding a good gift for all parties mentioned! I don't think I'll actually shop today, though. Today is a day for thinking. Planning. And listening to Christmas music!! (Come on over and visit, Mom, I know Dad isn't allowing this at HIS house.)
