Can't decide if you want cherry or blueberry? Or perhaps you need a pie for the Fourth? I'd like to suggest Patriotic Pie, a "necessity-is-the-mother-of-invention" masterpiece first enjoyed sometime around Thanksgiving 2006. Mmm...
Ha ha! Thanks, Jules! I DID make that pie. I wanted it to be blueberry, Iand when we dumped in the berry mixture it only filled half the pie. I think it was blackberry, actually, come to think of it... anyway, Josh's mom had a can of cherry pie filling so we scraped the blackberries over to one side and put the cherry in... and voila. Patriotic pie. The star in the middle, I think, actually covered a crack in the lattice! So funny how it all turned out looking gorgeous and intentional. :)
